Cruciform
Painted mild steel / Scotch Fir 1988. 270 x 120 x 90cm on base 10 x 159 x 26cm. Form (Tribute to Villard de Honnecourt) based on an image of a small freehand drawing of a Cistercian church plan in his textbook. It is a steel structure, freely gas-welded and sprayed with car paint. It was first exhibited in the Festival of London, standing in front of Alexandra Palace.
